3 things to consider when booking your venue!

  • Your ceremony whether it is in a church, town hall, registry office or at a hotel should reflect you beliefs and values, but can you cut down on travel and have both ceremony and reception at the one venue?
  • When talking with a venue ask them what are their Environmental policies?  Are they actively trying to reduce their carbon foot print. Do they support a more ethical means i.e. fair trade coffee, recycling etc.
  • The menu, does your venue buy local and/or organic produce? Will they offer you an organic alternative? 

 

Your flowers; what to think about when booking a florist!

  •  Think about your flowers.  Try sourcing local and seasonal wildflowers so you cut the emissions that would be generated by shipping flowers from far away.  For centerpieces, use oxygen-producing potted plants or candles with green foliage also very cost effective.
  •   Does the florist encourage the use of seasonal flowers and do they use local flower suppliers, are the flowers organically grown?
  •   Do they recycle & compost? Does the florist work with farmers who follow sustainable practices?

3 Things to consider when looking for your invatations'

  • Can I send an E-Invite? Will I design this myself or get a professional to do it?
  • Will I make my own invatation's from recycled paper or from handmade paper?
  • Can I get them printed on 100% recycled paper that has been processed without bleeaches?

  • Would you consider a second hand dress?
  • What about a dress made from organic materials i.e. silks and cottons?
